Garden Maintenance — Service Terms

These terms sit alongside our general Customer Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1          What Garden Maintenance is

Garden Maintenance is our general garden upkeep service — practical help keeping your garden in good order. We work to what you ask us to do on the day, whether that is a regular tidy-up or a one-off session to get on top of things. It is a flexible, hands-on service charged by the hour.

2          No survey needed

Garden Maintenance does not require a garden survey beforehand. You can simply book the time you need and tell us what you would like done. For your first visit, it helps to give us a clear idea of the tasks so we can come prepared.

3          How time is charged

Garden Maintenance is charged by the hour, in whole-hour blocks, at the rate shown on our website, which is the definitive source for our pricing. A single travel allowance of ten minutes is added at the start of each booking, not to each hour. Payment is by invoice after the work, payable within 7 days.

If a job is likely to need more time than booked, we will tell you before continuing, so you stay in control of the cost.

4          What we do

We carry out general garden maintenance tasks as agreed with you. We will always tell you honestly if a task is outside what we can safely or properly do, or if it would be better suited to a specialist. Some kinds of work fall outside this service — including tree felling and lopping, work at height above five metres, deep excavation, structural or hard-landscaping work, and chemical pesticide spraying, which is not part of our natural approach to garden care. If you need work of this kind, we will happily point you in the right direction.

5          Materials

Where a job needs materials or supplies, these are charged separately from our time, and we will agree any material costs with you before buying or using them. We do not mark hidden costs into the hourly rate.

6          Garden waste

We are a registered waste carrier (registration number CBDL481769), and we take the responsible disposal of garden waste seriously — waste we handle is always taken to a licensed facility and disposed of properly. We never dump waste illegally.

Garden waste created by the work we do can be placed in your own garden-waste bin where it fits, or we can remove it for proper disposal at a licensed facility — we will quote you for removal at the time, depending on the amount. For other waste — such as pre-existing garden waste, soil, or bulky material — we will quote to arrange its correct and lawful disposal. We will always agree any disposal charge with you before taking anything away.

7          Cancelling and changes

If your plans change, please let us know as soon as you can. You can cancel or rearrange a booking up to one hour before it is due. As Garden Maintenance is invoiced after the work, you are only charged for time actually worked. If you book online, you also have a legal right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

8          What we can and cannot promise

We carry out our work with reasonable skill and care. Gardens are living, variable spaces, and some results — particularly how plants respond afterwards — depend on weather and conditions beyond our control. We will always do a careful, honest job and tell you what we have done.

9          How we contact you

We will contact you about your bookings by email and, where you have agreed to it, by SMS. You can manage your SMS preference in your member profile. How we use your contact details is explained in our Privacy Policy.

10        Access and your responsibilities

You are responsible for providing safe access to your garden, telling us about any hazards, and securing pets during a visit. Please let us know about anything we should be aware of before we start — fragile features, areas that are out of bounds, or particular plants to protect. If you will not be home, please make sure we can get in and that you have told us what you would like done.

11        General

Our general Customer Terms and our Privacy Policy apply to Garden Maintenance. Where these terms cover something specific to Garden Maintenance, they apply in addition to our general terms.
